Perception is to be blamed. It, if given due attention, keeps changing. There is a story of a man who came to a doctor and asked the doctor about his illness. The doctor told him that he had a weak heart and recommended him to take a daily walk.

While taking a walk, this man was stopped by an old woman who asked for help with her heavy bag. They helped each other as they both walked on, until they met another old woman who asked them for help as she was carrying her pet dog on her back. They helped each other as they both walked on, until they saw another old woman who was carrying an enormous sack of potatoes on her back.

And so it went all the way up the street, every old woman asking for help from this old man. Finally they reached an old lady carrying a huge bundle of firewood. When the old lady asked the old man for help with her burden, he told her that he was going to take a rest soon and would meet her up at the next street corner.

The next day he met the same lady carrying the same bundle of firewood and wondered why she didn’t need his help that day. He noticed that even though she looked the same as she did yesterday, she now carried an enormous sack of potatoes instead of firewood! He realized that perception is very powerful thing and must be taken care of in all aspects throughout one’s life.
